Politician Parade Participation

Be Seen. Be Celebrated. Be Handmade.

The Handmade Parade is a celebration of unity, creativity, and community-powered joy. We invite elected officials and political candidates to join the parade in a way that reflects our values: collaboration, imagination, and playful public participation.

Each tier includes working with a local artist to create a giant puppet that represents you, your role, or your platform in a fun, symbolic way—and requires you to wear a themed costume or be represented by the puppet during the parade.
Politicians must play along!
No suits. No signage. Just spirit.
 

Politician Participation Tiers
Giant Puppet Presence – $2,000

• Work with a local artist to design and build a giant puppet inspired by your role or values

• You may be represented by the puppet or walk alongside it in themed costume

• Recognition on parade materials as a “Giant Puppet Patron”

• Opportunity to attend a community workshop or puppet build

• Social media highlight with your puppet + artist feature

Costumed Marcher – $500

• March in the parade in a playful costume aligned with the parade theme or your values (must be approved in advance—no campaign branding)

• Inclusion in “Costumed Officials” section of parade line-up

• Name listed in parade program and on website

Why We Do It This Way
The Handmade Parade is about people-powered creativity, not campaigning. We welcome public officials who are willing to celebrate with the community in a creative and meaningful way.
